Introduction:
Imagine having the power to choose a story’s conclusion.
Children learn to tell stories in this blog, but they don’t just tell stories; they make stories with multiple endings! In a really enjoyable way, this improves writing, creativity, and decision-making abilities. Let’s talk about how to develop tales that astonish, confound, and motivate!
What Is a “Choose Your Own Ending” Story?
It’s an imaginative tale with multiple possible outcomes. Rather, the reader has a choice between two or more possible outcomes, based on their preferred course of events. Imagine it as creating your own maze of stories!
🪄 Example:
Title: The Magical Key
You find a glowing key in the school playground. You can…
- It can be used to open a hidden entrance beneath your bed.
- Exchange it for free cupcakes for a year.
- Keep it hidden since it could be harmful.
Now, write a different ending for each choice!
How to Write Your Own:
- Start with a simple story idea.
→ A school trip, a lost puppy, a robot in the backyard… - Introduce a big choice in the middle.
→ Should the hero go left or right? Trust the robot or not? - Write at least 2 different endings.
→ One can be happy, one funny, one surprising!
Brainstorming Activity:
Story Starter: “Today I woke up and everything was upside down!”
→ What will your character do?
→ Will they enjoy the day or try to fix the world?
Now try 2 endings:
- Conclusion 1: It becomes enjoyable and the world remains upside down!
- The character discovers a mystical method to turn things back in the second ending.
